LOVABLE GREEN SMOOTHIE

You already know the benefits to enjoying more greens, so this is a recipe to use when you don't have much time and need to throw something together. This is great as a meal to start your day, or halved and enjoyed as a snack or with your normal breakfast!

Makes one large smoothie or two snack sized smoothies.

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 cups leafy greens (I like to mix it up, using something different each week)

  • 1/2 handful of parsley or cilantro (may be omitted)

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 very ripe banana

  • 1 cup frozen berries

  • 1/2 apple or orange

  • 1 tablespoon nut butter (optional)

Directions:

  • Add greens, parsley, and water to blender and blend for about 15 seconds until greens are blended. If it isn't blending together, you may want to add more water.

  • Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until you have reached desired consistency. 

  • If it isn't cold enough, you can add a couple of ice cubes and blend.
