This smoothie is perfect for getting your daily dose of greens in, while tasting good! Enjoy a large serving for breakfast, or have a smaller serving as a snack.
Makes one large smoothie or two snack sized smoothies.
1-2 cups leafy greens (I like to mix it up, using something different each week)
1/2 handful of parsley or cilantro (may be omitted)
1/2 cup water
1 very ripe banana
1 cup frozen berries
1/2 apple or orange
1 tablespoon nut butter (optional)
Add greens, parsley, and water to blender and blend for about 15 seconds until greens are blended. If it isn't blending together, you may want to add more water.
Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until you have reached desired consistency.
If it isn't cold enough, you can add a couple of ice cubes and blend.
