Cherries Jubilee Oatmeal

This oatmeal recipe will make you feel like you are having dessert for breakfast, but keep you on the path to health. It doesn't get much better than that!

This recipe is packed with healthy ingredients. Cherries are the star of the show and are a powerful source of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, making them great for slowing down the aging process and combating chronic disease like cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and heart disease.

Cacao nibs are the treat that tops this bowl, giving it a chocolatey taste. Cacao nibs are one of the highest plant based iron sources you can consume. They also contain more calcium than milk, and are a natural mood booster. Such a great way to start the day!

Makes one serving. Double or triple for a yummy breakfast throughout the week!


1 cup of water

1/2 cup of rolled oats

1/2 cup frozen or fresh cherries, pitted

1 ripe banana- 1 half smashed, 1 half sliced

1/4 cup non-dairy milk

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Salt to taste

2 tablespoons cacao nibs

Sprinkle of shredded, unsweetened coconut

2 tablespoons chia seed pudding, optional (see Chia Seed Pudding recipe)


Bring water to boil.

Add oats, lower temp to medium/low and stir occasionally for 3 minutes. If using frozen cherries, add them now. Continue cooking oats for 3 more minutes, or until cooked through.

Add smashed banana half, cherries (if using fresh cherries) and milk and turn heat to low. Stir and let sit for about 1 minute.

Turn the heat off and add cinnamon and salt.

Pour oats into a bowl and top with banana slices, cacao nibs, coconut, and chia seed pudding.
