How do you get ready for bed? Do you have a sleep routine? Has it ever taken you awhile to fall asleep?
Maybe your mind is racing about the days events or what you need to do tomorrow. This is where a quality sleep routine comes in handy.
It is so important that we set ourselves up with a good sleep routine well before we lay our head on our pillow. Your body and mind needs time to wind-down at least an hour before you actually get to bed.
This nighttime elixir is a great way to start your routine. It's nice and warm, a little bit sweet, and a lot soothing with the delightful spices it includes. Enjoy this treat 1-2 hours before bed to start your sleep routine and get a great night of shuteye.

1 cup milk (choose your favorite)
4-5 whole cloves
1/2 teaspoon maple syrup or honey
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Sprinkle of nutmeg
In a small saucepan, heat milk and cloves over medium/low heat until just under a boil.
Stir in maple syrup.
Remove from heat and add vanilla.
Pour into mug and sprinkle with nutmeg.
*I would stick to one cup. Drinking too much right before bed may wake you up for a bathroom trip in the middle of the night!
